My supervisor

This was my Sunday evening reading material and my "supervisor"
Neptune. He must really want me to make them some treats. I found this
dog cookbook the other day at Barnes on the bargain table. It has a
TON of yummy (even for people) sounding recipes. I'm definitely going
to have to make some soon. Watch for the post.

The new cookbooks arrived a couple of days ago. I've started browsing both of them but haven't gotten into the recipes yet. They both have a ton of good info & tips, along with what to stock in your pantry & freezer to make meal times less hectic and get dinner on the table quicker. Flipping through the cookbooks quickly I saw lots of tasty looking dishes and am compiling a list of recipes to try. I'll be curious to see how many of the ingredients I already have in the pantry & refrigerator. It's always nice when you don't have to go out and buy a bunch of specialty condiments, herbs, & seasonings that you only use once (of which I am guilty because I always see something new that I want to try). Here's to a weekend of cookbook reading, followed by new meal samplings!

I love cookbooks!

Some of you already know, I LOVE collecting cookbooks. Well, I'm on my way to collecting a couple more! My "boss" gave me an Amazon gift card as part of a bonus for doing such great work, so I'm ordering two cookbooks I've had my eye on for a while. :)

The first one is The Steamy Kitchen Cookbook, and the other is Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution. I've flipped through The Steamy Kitchen a few times when we've been at the bookstore and drooled over the photos & delicious sounding recipes. Then last night we started watching Jamie's Food Revolution. We've been watching Jamie cook since he first came to the Food Network and have a couple of his cookbooks. I've dvr'd all the F.R. shows since it started but hadn't gotten around to watching any of them yet. I'm amazed at what the show has shown the schools to be serving the kids. Not having kids, I don't know what is served in public school lunchrooms, but I hope they aren't all as processed as what we've seen so far on the show.

Anyway, back to my excitement over new cookbooks on their way to me! I hope they come quickly and then I'll try to review a couple of recipes from each one.
